$1 Spent Here, $1 Spent There!

I bought a piece of Pyrex yesterday, I don't buy much anymore but how could I leave this behind..

Yes, it's a 404 pink bowl - it has a few scratches on it and Bar Keepers Friend didn't really do too much for it.  I bought it because - I like the pink, I have two others and it was $1 - yes, $1 - it wasn't marked, I asked her and she said all bowls are $1 - I had to take it.

So, here's what I have now in pink and turquoise bowls - missing one bowl in each set - I've thrifted all of these - both of the 404's were $1 - they look so pretty together - maybe someday I'll come across the ones I need.

I mentioned a few posts ago that Carla and I had bought a box of vintage Christmas cards, we split them up - here's what I got - aren't they cute? They came with envelopes too and were in the original box which she has.

Don't you just love Miss Chiquita Banana?  That book was printed in 1950.  The other two are Good Housekeeping ones.

We're addicted to "The Sopranos" - we didn't watch it when it was first broadcast - it's a great show, we'll be sad when we get to the end, we're going to finish up Season 3 tonight.  I found this book at the same shop as the pink bowl, it was strange, there were two the very same there, I paid $1 - I'm planning to go through it and probably use it for SMASHing.

I had a lucky day on the scarf front- Salvation Army had a rack full and a plastic milk box full - how nice they had a chair there so I sit down and go through the whole box.  All of the scarves were $1 - come to think of it, I think just about everything I bought was a $1.    I found three Vera's..

I picked out all of these for resale - the big grey scarf on the end - it's a Mercedes Benz silk scarf, hopefully, somebody needs a scarf like that!

Gary was talking about the little wooden spoons the other day that used to come with sundaes - remember those?  Lo and behold, yesterday at Home Sense, I found this ice cream set - paper cups and wooden spoons!

I am so lucky to receive such nice things in the mail from blogging friends - Ann from A Sentimental Life sent me this beautiful set of four Vera Christmas napkins that she found - I really appreciate it, Ann, thank you!!

Glassware at Value Village

Finally, I found something at Value Village - it has been weeks since I've seen anything there - a different pricer must have been working because these don't seem like their new normal prices to me..

I set this Snowflake 043 out in the snow for just a minute to take this pictures.  I was shocked to see this on the shelf, no lid but it was only $2.99 - that's why I think it must have been a different pricer on duty - seeing how expensive the prices have become at Value Village, I think this was a nice deal.  It's just in perfect shape - now I have turquoise and white!

A cute little Anchor Hocking Cereal Bowl - $1.99 - some nice red color on there for Valentine's Day.

I spotted this and that it would be great for my swizzle sticks that I found - then, I found another one, 99 cents each.

I don't know much about glass identification but these are marked Hoosier Glass, they were made in the 70's and 80's in Indiana.  They're just a cute little size - only 5 inches tall.

I'm joining up today with some thrift link ups - Junkin JoeThriftasaurusThrifty Things Friday and  Vintage Thingie Thursday.  I was invited to join in for the first link up party at Wonderful at Home - help Kristen out and link up your post.

Beautiful New Pyrex

Hope everyone just had the very nicest and best Christmas - I did - our family were here, our bellies were full, our gifts were plentiful and our time spent together was fun and relaxing.. This is my first blogging attempt with my new camera, which I just love, pictures are going to be so much better... Since I titled this post, Beautiful New Pyrex, I better let you have a look at it...

Moon Deco, 2 1/2 quart - what a beauty this is!!  And, what a surprise gift from my  boy, Darcy!  Last year he gave me a Friendship 403, but I don't know how he'll ever top this one.  It's in perfect condition, I don't see a scratch on it anywhere.  Moon Deco came from the crazy 70's.

What a surprise this was from my friend, Sharon - a 401 Delphite Bluebell bowl - it's the sweetest little bowl!  I've used it already - it's perfect.

A few months ago I broke this dish that Gary's mother had given to us, we used it often, I felt even worse after she passed away and the bowl was gone.  Sharon was nice enough to share with me - now I have the yellow hostess back in circulation.  Thanks, Sharon for both of these great pieces.

A few days before Christmas, I was at Value Village, I sure didn't need another Pyrex carafe, but this one is just so different - it has these cute kitchen items all over  it - you can see some, but there's also a grater, masher, egg bowl, plus other kitchen utensils.  It was marked kind of high for a carafe, $4.99, I had to buy it!

We wish you all the best for the holiday season and  the coming year - lets hope it's a year full of wonderful new thrifty and vintage finds!

Today I am linking with Share Your Cup Thursday - Jann featured one of my Christmas tins on her post this week - thanks so much. I'm also linking up with Junkin' Joe.
