All Because of Barbie!!

Remember last week I did a Barbie post and my blogging buddy, Diane who pens Lydia's Post did one at the same time - all because we had the same Barbie dress.  It was fun setting it up and sharing our love of our vintage handmade Barbie clothes!    If you don't know what I'm talking about, here and here are our posts!

The Barbie love kept going this week - I received a package from Diane on Monday - it was a complete surprise and so appreciated!!  Blogging friends just have to be the most thoughtful out there, oh, and I must include Instagram friends too!!

Diane makes cards and does she do a nice job!!   Click on the picture and see just how cute they are!!

So, getting something like that in the mail meant I had to do a Barbie SMASH page...

Thanks, Diane - it was so generous of you!!!

365 SMASHbook - Part 3

Here are the final pages in the 365 SMASHbook - I didn't edit any of these pics, no cropping, just taking the picture and posting - you can click on any pic for a closer view.

As you can see, I did a few pages for Halloween, I loved doing these!!

This is my least favourite page in the book, I didn't like it before I SMASHed it and I don't like it after, it's just so plain...

I don't have many Christmas pages in this book because I had the special Christmas SMASHbook which I completed.

I used Mom's fruitcake recipe and that's her can that she used to keep the fruitcake in.

Last page - COMPLETED!!

365 SMASHbook - Part 1

Some of my fellow SMASHers on the Facebook SMASHaholics group have asked to see my completed 365 SMASHbook - I could have made a video but this just seems easier to me - the book is so large, it ended up being 9 inches thick, if I had an assistant to help turn the pages, well, maybe it would have worked out.  So, anyway, I'm going to split the pages up into three different blog posts.

I started this book last Mother's Day and finished it with this year's Mother's Day.    I really enjoyed working on this one  - it's my third one that I've completed!  It was nice to document the specific events through the year.

You'll notice I did a few pages on winter - it was so cold and miserable,  what else was there to do but SMASH??

On to Part 2...here it is

Using My Thrift Finds for SMASHing

More and more I find myself hunting down good paper items at the thrifts for my SMASHing stash - I'm finding some great stuff!!  It's always nice to have lots of stickers and embellishments to use but SMASHing can be done with just magazines and such.  Last week I found these two great old children's books, I have no qualms about cutting them up for pages that I plan to do, I paid only a few cents for each book and they're thick ones, it was really worthwhile.

The French encyclopedia is full of the sweetest illustrations...

I also came home with a couple of old knitting patterns, I was only looking in this section because I have seen people use old sewing patterns for SMASHing, I was sure surprised when I saw these patterns, I bought them and I SMASHed them because Mom made these caps for me and my children.

Here are a few more pages that I've done recently, all with bits and pieces from thrifted books,  magazines and catalogues.  Some of you that follow me via Jill's Little Bit page on Facebook or Instagram have probably already seen these pages, but I know a lot of people out there are not on either one and like to see this type of page.  Click on any pic for a closer look!

I found this pack of unopened Peanuts Valentines, I gave some sheets away and used some for SMASHing.

Thrifting and SMASHing - it's a great combination for me.

It Was A SMASHing Weekend!!

Carla came home this weekend and we SMASHed and SMASHed some more.  I gave her the International book in the spring, she and her beau went off on an adventure to England and Scotland, since I was so hooked on SMASHing, I wanted to share with her and what a great way to document her big trip.  This weekend was the first chance to get it started, she had to come here because, of course, I have all the supplies, although now my stash has been decreased!!

Over a period of 24 hours, she SMASHed 25 pages - but she didn't get finished before she had to go home.  By next time, hopefully, I will have a few more supplies stocked up.  Here are a few of her pages, I think she did just a great job!!

By later in the day today, the table was much more in disarray.

I didn't do nearly the amount of pages that she did, I worked on my International book too - I did a few pages on my PEI trip, I'm still plugging away at it.  I also did a few pages in my Red Doodle - I'm nearly finished - my first SMASH book to complete.  SMASHing is a lot of fun!!!

No weekend home would be complete without a bit of game playing too and a few snacks - it was a fun weekend - she'll be back to SMASH some more!!  SMASH ON!!!

I post all my SMASH pages on my Jill's Little Bit Facebook page- you can "Like" my page here.   If you're on Instagram, I post on there too - follow me here - see you there!
