I think I maybe should just give up on the local yard sales - there is just nothing!!! I really didn't expect much with it being a long weekend and I wasn't wrong! So, after my husband came home from golf, we took a drive and headed towards Manitoulin Island - for anyone that doesn't know, this island is a Canadian island in Lake Huron - it's the largest island in a freshwater lake in the world. It was a great day for a drive, we had a hot dog at a street vendor and an ice cream, bought a loaf of homemade bread at a farmers market and to make it a really good day - I found some "things".

I like it when I find Pyrex in unexpected places - a man was set up in a clearing along the road, with a couple of tables of dishes - I paid $2 for this 502B fridgie, with lid - I have one but this one is perfect and my old one isn't! |

Further down the road was an official yard sale - I didn't even spot this at first until the lady mentioned that nobody was buying her "Aunt Jemima" - I knew this was a Mrs. Butterworth's syrup bottle and it must have come from the US because we have never had those in Canada. She's big - 11 inches tall - so cute! I paid $3 but proceeds were going to a church so you're hardly going to bargain with that. |

They had a laundry basket full of old Noxzema jars, I took one and one Milk of Magnesia. When I go to PEI and hunt for seaglass, this blue glass is very hard to find - if you do find any, it probably came from these types of bottles. |

We went to an old flea market building - pretty well the whole upstairs was full of dishes - sadly, no Pyrex that I didn't have. But, I picked up this little cream and sugar for $2 - they are tiny, only 3 inches high. They were made in Japan, the brand is Siena Ware by Imperial, it has a crown on the bottom. They're retro - don't you think? |

I'm anxious to try out my new Bar BQ plate - $1 - stamped Japan. The cashier commented on my purchases, she thought I found a couple of really neat things, I think I did too! |
