Dad's Red Sleigh

Red for Rednesday - It snowed here yesterday, it looks nice with Dad's old red sleigh and his snowshoes which also have a speck of red - those are my skates and here I am on a pond with Dad - I have been converting all the old slides to the computer - pretty well my whole childhood is on these slides - it's an emotional thing to do but great fun to see the old pictures.

Take time to visit over at Rednesday - I'm going to have a browse right now....  And, while you're browsing around, check out Vintage Thingie Thursday

  2. I'm trying to imagine what that red sled looked like when it was brand new!

    BOY IN BRIGHT RED SHORTS

    Boy in bright red shorts,
    With a shirt of blue,
    Strolling on the Malecón —
    I wish I were you;

    Carefree and content,
    Nothing much to do,
    Chillin’ in your bright red shorts
    And your shirt of blue.

  3. I really loved this post! You're so lucky to have your Dad's sled and snowshoes, and to have that picture of the two of you on that frozen pond is just icing on the cake!
    Happy REDnesday,

  5. I grew up ice skating here in northern Wisconsin. Lately I've been wishing I had a pair of antique skates for decoration purposes and a brand new pair to use for skating!
