This is my Mom's set of Colonial Mist but now I own it. Yesterday I was going through a box of family pictures and I found this great old picture - probably 1985 or '86 - it was Christmas dinner - the two blue bowls are on the table and the white one is on the counter. You can click the pic for a closer view. It's not often that you find a picture like this!! And, yes, that's me - wtih the great big glasses and permed hair!!
Love that family photo! Lol...I had a perm and large glasses at one point in my life too :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool picture!! Is the little girl Carla???
ReplyDeleteYes, it is, Sharon - I posted some old pics on Facebook yesterday too.
ReplyDeleteThat's always so great to see Pyrex "in action." My mother used hers all the time, of course, but I just can't bring myself to get mine dirty (or worse, break it). I finally broke down and used one of my Glasbake casseroles the other day so maybe in a little while I'll use the "good stuff" (the Pyrex). Love the hair!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing this Pyrex in action!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great photo. You and my mom are probably around the same age and she had the exact same perm/hairstyle in the mid 80s. I would have been a couple years older than your daughter in the photo. Thanks for sharing this :) I'm going to try and dig up my own family dinner photos where I'm sure I'll see some spring blossom corelle plates.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love old family photographs? They are classic! I bought my first two pieces of Pyrex yesterday - two mixing bowls, the largest and the smallest. They are in perfect condition, but don't seem to sell for much. You even said you didn't care for the pattern - it's brown with fruit on it. I know it's too 70's to be cool, but at $1.50 for the set, I picked them up. I'll probably stick them in my booth and sell them that way. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for taking a look at the picture and posting - I love to read your comments! Wish I had more pictures like this one.....
ReplyDeleteI love the color of these pyrex bowls! And loved seeing the family photo.
ReplyDeleteYes, I had frames exactly like that and a hairdo to match. Didn't you just love the 80's?
