These Waffles Are So Good!

I'm not wasting any time with my pinned from Pinterest post this week - these are just too good to wait any longer to share - no fancy name, no fancy ingredients, they're just called waffles - you can see the original recipe here at All Recipes.  I added frozen blueberries that I had picked last summer, that was the only change from the original recipe.    These are so, tasty, they just hit the spot - with pure maple syrup, of course!

Tomorrow night I will pick the winner in my mini draw for the vintage cookbooks -comment right here on yesterday's post or on Facebook to be entered to win.    Good luck!

Linking up with Adorned from Above Blog Hop and Thursday FavoriteThings, because these waffles really are a favorite but I just don't make them often enough!

Week 12 - Pinned and Liked from Pinterest

It's week 12 on my Pinned and liked from Pinterest  posts!  It's nice to hear from  some of you that try the recipes and are just as happy with the results as I am!

Today I'm sharing my Easter dessert - Coconut Cream Angel Pie, including the pastry.   I was never great at making pie crust but since I've found this recipe, it makes all the difference in the world - the original pin came from The Pioneer Woman - I've made it a few times now, for both cream pies and for fruit pies - I always used to buy the frozen crusts because the pastry never seemed to turn out for me but from the very first time I tried this, it was perfect.  The Coconut Cream Angel Pie recipe comes from Taste of Home,  it's a little more work than a boxed pie filling, but so much better!  I would never go back to boxed!

I'm linking up today with Weekend Potluck at the Country Cook.    I have twenty six followers on my new Facebook page and that's only 5 days, that makes me happy, I'd like it if you'd follow me too - click here.

Pizza Boats - from Pinterest

I pinned this recipe a while ago, finally I  tried it last night, it's a good easy meal for Friday night, quick to prepare and quick to cook!  It was tasty enough but  would probably go for a smaller bun next time, we had a salad with it and it just seemed like a bit too much food.  I cooked them for 9 minutes, a little longer might be better, as they weren't piping hot.

The original recipe was pinned from Table for Seven - this would be a great recipe for children to prepare, just as long as you hollow out the bread or bun for them first.  It's the weekend so time to link up with the The Weekend Potluck hosted by The Country Cook

It's hard to believe this is my 13th week of my pinning from Pinterest posts and I only missed one week so far, not bad - do you make use of your Pinterest pins? You can follow me here.

I forgot the garlic!

Caramelized Chicken Wings-Pinned & Liked!

I missed my Pinterest post last week while I was away - I thought I better get busy or this week would be a write off too.  I've made this recipe for chicken wings a few times now - it's the best - it's a great dish for a Friday!  The recipe originally comes from food.com, here is the recipe - you should pin it too and give it a try.  I used the split type of wings and I didn't change anything in the recipe - I cooked them in my lime green Pyrex baker. It's Sunday so I'm linking up with the recipe link party at Addicted to Recipes - there's always such a nice variety of recipes featured and maybe there'll be a new blog or two to follow...

Pinned, Made, Liked!!

After a week off, it's back to my weekly Pinterest post - I think this is going pretty well, hard to believe it's nearly March and I've been posting every week about a pin that I've tried.  Last night I made this great dish - actually, it's the second time - and both times - so good....  It was so good, I forgot to take a picture but did get the leftovers today for lunch...

Sweet and Sour Chicken

I followed the original recipe pretty well to the tee, I used just a pinch of regular salt instead of the kosher salt. I think chicken thighs are my favourite kind of chicken, they're usually a good price and they're just so tasty!  The original recipe is from Malta Supermarkets - click here if you're interested in giving it a try.  I think you'll enjoy it!!

Slow Cooker Ribs from Pinterest

Another week - another pin to share - I've made this one a few times and it never disappoints - here's the link to Lazy Man Slow Cooker Ribs - there isn't really much to say about these - they're easy, they're tasty, try them, you'll love them , I've passed the recipe on a few times - no complaints from anyone!    I followed the recipe pretty well as described, I only added a pinch of regular salt instead of the half tablespoon of kosher salt.  I'm linking up with Share Your Cup Thursday and Weekend Potluck at The Country Cook

It was just a simple meal - ribs, baked potato and broccoli slaw.    The lighting is so bad at night, it's hard to get a very good picture, especially when meat is involved!

I won't be doing any pinning post next week - because come Sunday, I am going to be looking at a sign like this - I can't wait to get away from this snow for a week!!!

Minestrone Soup - Pinned and Liked!

I am not ashamed to admit I'm not much of a soup maker - I have no problem with chowders but a pot of turkey or vegetable soup - it turns out more like stew and then I'm discouraged.    But, I keep trying and hoping for success - finally, it happened with this Minestrone Soup - the original pin came from Taste of August - leftovers for lunch today and it was just as good  - I'll definitely be making it again...  I followed the recipe to the letter - my pasta choice was whole wheat fusilli.  I'm linking up today with Share Your Cup Thursday and Weekend Potluck

The soup is cooking!

Time to eat the soup!

The Button Wreath - from Pinterest

Another week, another made from Pinterest post - I don't know how I am going to come up with a different beginning for every week -it's still January and I'm already having trouble with that part.

I posted a random picture this morning on Instagram of my button wreath - I'm just new on Instagram in the past few weeks - follow me, I'll follow you back - my user name is mackaypj.  Back to the wreath - this isn't something I've made in the past week, I've actually made a few and given them as gifts but I do have these two left for me.  I have tons and tons of vintage buttons - just another phase of collecting.....  As always, click on the picture for a better view...

Perfect for Valentine's Day!

You  need lots of buttons -

I am not a real crafty person, I try to be, but I'm really not,  that's why I don't know the proper name for this wreath form.  I found this one works best, they're expensive, but cutting it in half at least gets you two wreaths.  I take somenice ribbon and wrap it all the wreath,  glue it at the end - then, you're ready to start gluing the buttons on.  I like to make them nice and full, so buttons on top of buttons.

I tried different types of glue but this one seems to work best for  this project, I   bought it at Walmart.  Here is the original site that I pinned from - she used a template,  I think my method works just as well.

I always have a surplus of the dark buttons,  the dark ones are my favorites.  I've made all white ones for gifts, they're pretty  too - which one do you like best - the red buttons or the dark ones?

It's time to link up with Sue at Rednesday - I just know there's going to be all kinds of Valentine beauty over there.  I am also linking up with a new to me blog hop -Adorned from Above

Muffins Made from Pinterest

I'm keeping up with my "Made from Pinterest" project pretty well, actually, I had a few choices this week - some of these recipes work out, some don't - like the crockpot casserole I made yesterday - not so good - I won't be sharing!!!  But, this recipe, I don't mind sharing....  Give them a try...  Today I'm linking up with Jann's nice link up party - Share Your Cup Thursday - there's lots of interesting posts to check out every week..  The Busy Bee's are hosting their very first link up party and I'm going to take part - here's the place to check out their Thursday get together.

This recipe for Blueberry Maple Muffins comes from the blog -  Addicted to Recipes- it's a new pin for me but looks like the recipe has been out there for a while.  They're really quite nice, the only thing is that we didn't think there was a very strong taste of maple syrup- really, you can hardly taste it at all.  But, they still have a really nice flavor - the blueberries taste so good and the struesel topping really adds to it.  I used frozen blueberries and didn't use any nuts on the topping.  I've repinned these on my Made from Pinterest board - anything good that I know I'll make again - goes there.

Pinterest and Posts

I've been pinning on Pinterest for a year - I love it!!  Are you a pinner?  I have fifty boards right now - check some of my pins out here, maybe you'll see something you're interested in and start following me - vintage items are my favourite things to pin, I have lots!  I don't like to make my boards too huge for certain categories, so I may have two or three boards of the same category, but only currently pinning on the last one.  I find myself when boards are too long, I want to move on to something else, I think this is a more efficient way.

I do try things that I pin so for the new year, I plan to do a blog post a week from something I've tried on Pinterest, hope I can carry through!!  I haven't had time to try anything yet this year, after all, we are only three days in - but I did make this just before Christmas - it was a Christmas present for the backyard birds.

It's easy -  cut a bagel in half, slather it with peanut butter, push down some bird seed into the peanut butter, decorate it with some cranberries and a little bit of greenery, tie it on a branch - the birdies had a Christmas dinner as well!

I pinned this from my friends at The Cottage Market - click here to see their original blog post.
