Picture Post

I'm calling this a picture post - first I'm going to share the pages I SMASHed from my trip last week, then a few pictures that didn't make it into the SMASHbook.  I used my International books, which I use for all trips - big trips or small ones.  My previous post shared my thrift and antique finds, this post is a miss match of various things - if you're on Instagram, you probably saw these...

Well, I've seen it all now, the highest price article that I've ever come across at Value Village - 38 pieces of Royal Albert china - Dimity Rose pattern, I was shocked  - $229.99 - at a thrift store!!

This gal must have been in a marching band.

Bronner's Christmas Wonderland is just that and more!!

I regret not buying this clock in there.

This old stove was in an antique mall, it was selling for less than $1,000.  Isn't it beautiful?

This ice fountain was in Gaylord, Michigan - it was miserable out, I got out of the car long enough to take the picture!

We had lunch at Gobblers of Gaylord, a nice little restaurant where turkey is king!!  This ice cream cone was out front, it was huge!  No, we did not have an ice cream, it was way too cold for that!  Look at that snow!  And, as I look out here, it's snowing, AGAIN!!  Go away, winter!!

I don't know how long before I'll have a thrift share - I was at three shops yesterday, I bought nothing - junk, all junk!!

I'm linking up with Jann at Share Your Cup Thursday - check it out!

  1. Love your pages! I'd so like to go to Bronner's. I've ordered from them through the mail but have never been there in person. My thrift finds have been non-existent this week too. It better pick up one of these days! Maybe people aren't dropping anything off due to the crummy weather.

  2. I have been much more selective or discerning maybe about what I buy at thrifts now. I have so much that it needs to be really unique or beautiful to come home with me...I've seen all the other stuff!

  4. I've seen something priced at that price at Value Village, too! A Royal Doulton figure (did I spell that right?). In Hamilton.

You went to Gaylord - too funny! My dad owns land right around there in Grayling. It's so nice & right next to a little lake surrounded by trees. I haven't been in ages, but maybe sometime this year! I'd love to share pics on my blog.

    Nice SMASHING!

  5. Oh, I love your journal pages! You put a lot into each page. You're not going to believe this....I've been working on mine all week! I have to work and work before I decide to actually glue something down! hahaha! Sweet hugs!

  7. Lately the big name thrift stores have been pricing things high, but it seems like around here everyone wants in on reselling and all these little places are popping up. Been finding enough to stock the store and some stuff for personal use. We've had so much fun in the last week. One store was so new the owner didn't know how to use his cash register and I taught him before I left and rang up a few orders so he could see how to do it. Needless to say I walked out with a few great deals.

  9. What a fun way to remember your travels. That vintage stove is incredible! Sometimes Value Village has ridiculous prices.

    Have a great weekend!

  11. For a Christmas fanatic, Bronner's is to-die-for! Value Village/Saver's are so high-priced. I rarely find anything at my local Saver's store.

  12. LOL at the dishes at Savers. Yeah, that averages out to $6.00 per piece. At a thrift store for crying out loud!
One of our Goodwills must have a new pricer on staff because when we went on Saturday, it looked like they were selling gold. Imagine one of those ceramic Christmas trees with the little plastic bulbs on the outside and one lightbulb inside. Now remove all the plastic bulbs. And the base with the light socket. The price? $35.00. Hubby actually snorted!

  13. Oh how I'd love to hold those smash pages in my hands and check out each and every little thing! That is a pretty price for sure! Our local thrift will have big buck on vintage items sometimes. It chaps my hide a little. After all, they were donated. Thanks for sharing with SYC. Love the cone!
    hugs,
    Jann
