Kay's Spaghetti Sauce
At the first of the year I started a "Pinned and Tried from Pinterest" project, it kind of fell by the wayside when summer arrived, I just wasn't trying many new recipes. I tried this one yesterday that I had pinned a while ago and really liked it - Kay's Spaghetti Sauce - the original recipe came right here from from All Recipes, I don't think you can go wrong with any recipe on that site especially any recipe that has a lot of 5 star reviews.
These are the leftovers from last night, I'm going to divide it up and freeze it. We had it on whole wheat spaghetti but it would be great for any type of pasta. Doesn't it look quite nice in Pyrex Friendship?
I pretty much followed the recipe - I used ground chicken instead of ground beef, used parsley instead of oregano and added fresh mushrooms. I let it simmer for a couple of hours - make your own sauce, it's way better than anything out of a jar or can!

ReplyDeleteI like your idea of letting others know how your Pinterest recipes turn out. I've had some real flops!
The spaghetti look quite yummy!
Looks delicious!! Especially in that Pyrex!! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree-- homemade sauce beats a jar hands down! Hey, finished 2 Smash pages since yesterday. Fun!
ReplyDeletePosting your Pinterest successes is a great idea! I have a great luck with recipes from there. And putting it in Pyrex completes it!

Brian is out of town tonight for work and whenever he isn't home, the kids and I have a tradition of having spaghetti & meatballs (he HATES spaghetti). It's too late for me to try this now but I am definitely going to pin it for next time.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute in the Friendship bowl :-)

That looks super yummy. Any spaghetti sauce with mushrooms that has been simmering for a while has to he delicious! I'm not gonna lie though, unless my grandma makes it for us, we usually eat jar sauce... one day I'll try this! :-)
ReplyDeleteI will make this soon! I'm trying very hard to be "an adult" and actually make meals at home instead of going to Subway or Noodles Co. etc. I'm going to be relying on your pinterest recipes often!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jill!
