I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

I can't get this song out of my head - if it's going to be in there until Christmas, I will definitely know all the words.   I was listening to Christmas music on the satellite radio the other day and now I can't stop singing it!!  Last year it was Dominick the Donkey now it's  Gayla Peevy singing I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. Just in case you wanted to know, the song was performed in 1953 by 10 year old Gayla from Ponca City, Oklahoma.     Click on the video and give it a listen -   I bet it's going to stay in your head too!!

  1. OMG!! That song is hysterical! Once I start singing it, I sing it for hours. My friend bought me a Hallmark Ornament that is a Hippo and it plays that song!
