February 15th

It was a long weekend here in Ontario, Family Day, it's so nice to get a break in the middle of winter and to make it even nicer, the house was full, both kids were home with their partners.  It was busy, Valentines Day on Friday and a half marathon on Sunday for the girls, but I didn't forget the 15th, which would have been Mom's 77th birthday..

I found this card that she was given when she was born..

I wonder who the card was from, they only put Mom's name on the card.

Here's a sweet picture, taken when she was nine years old.

Guess I best include a picture of Mom and I - how serious are we?

Just a little tribute to my Mom... hope you all had a great weekend!

  4. Very sweet post Jill. Love the card and especially the photos. I still have my Mom, but she suffers from dementia, so difficult. Thanks for sharing with us.

  6. Around these parts, they need to rename Family Day, "Laundry Day". Everybody in our buildings were doing laundry. It was insane!

    Sweet tribute, Jill.

  7. Newfoundland doesn't get family day, so no long weekend for me! Nice tribute, very sweet. I like the chair your sitting on in the last photo. :)

  9. What a wonderful tribute. I love that sweet baby card, and the frame her photo is in seems very familiar to me. I feel like maybe there was a picture of me as a toddler in a frame like that once...? That last one, that's too funny, with the serious faces! Thank you for sharing this bit of your family history at my History & Home link party this week! Take care - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
