I Have a Blog Post!!

The last blog post I wrote was in July, oh, my - where has the time gone...  I really am going to try to make an effort and write a little more often.

So, this post will be back to my original type of post - things I've bought at thrift stores over the last while.   I don't buy that much anymore, so it has to be something cheap or something that really catches my eye.

A small Halloween treat bucket, 1980 is stamped on the bottom, bought at a thrift in New Brunswick.

I used to read Jack and Jill, I thought it was so great, a magazine with my name on it!!  I bought this at a yard sale in Prince Edward Island.

I really can't leave a little Santa cup behind, especially when it's 99 cents.

I was in quite a few antique warehouses over the last week, I saw so many vintage Christmas ornaments just like this, the prices are crazy, I found this box at a thrift for $2. I am so lucky I have all these old decorations that I do, because I hardly ever see them like this anymore, for my kind of price!!!

These bowls reminded me so much of my Delphite Pyrex pieces, they were priced at 2 for $1.99 - a great price, I think.  The only markings on them are 20 & 21 - that's it!!  They're like a Fire King splash proof bowl - have you ever seen these?

I bought this enamel pot at an antique warehouse, I've always loved the enamel pots with the designs, I don't imagine I'll ever have one of those, so this will be good enough.  It was probably the most reasonable priced thing in the shop!

When summer began, I told myself I would have 300 Vera scarves in my collection, it never happened, I used to see them nearly every time I went out, that never happens now!! So, after finding these two last week, I now have 300 Vera scarves.  Yay!!

It's not very often you find anything so ridiculously priced at the thrift store, not on the cheap end of things anyway, I bought this unused Bath & Body Works 3 wick candle plus holder for $3 - we all know how much those candles cost - what a deal!!!!

This didn't take as long to write up as I imagined - I'm really going to try to post more often.  Thanks for reading this post!!!

  2. Welcome back Jill! I remember those pumpkin candy baskets and I can't believe my kids didn't ever have one. I remember reading the Jack and Jill magazine while at the dentist's office when I was a kid. I can't believe you have 300 different Vera scarves!! lol I bought a large size Yankee jar candle with the ceramic 'lampshade' for Christmas at a yard sale for $4.00! The scent is Home for the Holidays - a favourite! The candles sell for over $20. and the shades are usually about $20. Best deal ever!!

  4. Welcome back! Love that Santa mug and balls - I love finding vintage Christmas - just waiting until November 12th as all our thrifts wait to put out Christmas stuff until then as we are a military town and people get huffy when they put it out earlier. I am doing a thriftorama that morning with my Mom.

  7. I loved reading your new post. It reminded of the fun I used to have thrift shopping. I haven't done that for a very long time and may just start having a little wander around the local charity shops.

    1. I still always go in but I just don't buy much anymore, it was great when prices were cheaper, some of the shops have crazy prices now - not thrift store pricing at all!!!

  8. Fun finds! I have a similar mixing bowl that was my mother's, from the early 60s. I forget the maker-- will have to check. I hardly ever find Veras here too.
