Easter Thrifting
It's not easy to thrift for Easter items around here, well, it would be if all I wanted were dollar store items because that seems to be pretty much all there is!!
I actually found three things yesterday, one vintage for sure, one not new and another thing, probably new! They set me back $2.50.
It was odd this little made in Japan guy wasn't picked up at Value Village - my kids used to often get egg cups for Easter, there are still a couple here that we use. This one will not be used!!!
Danish butter cookies came in this tin - it's not very old, but it can pass for sort of old - it's banged up and dented on the sides!
I have been on the hunt for a lamb planter for weeks now, I know I used to see those things all the time, not any more and if I would have been smart maybe I would have kept a couple that I got when my children were born, but they're long gone.... So, out of desperation I bought this, I think it's really cute, I don't really care if it's old or not!
I'm happy to find anything when pickins' are so slim!!
Love the egg cup. I collect lambs also and sold off my lamb planter collection several years ago to downsize. Wish I had them back. I rarely find vintage Easter items around here.
ReplyDeleteI need to get out some of my egg cups and decorate this weekend. I wish you could come down here and go shopping with me...that is if I'm allowed to go again! haha! Happy weekend my friend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI would love to find some vintage egg cups! And that tin is so sweet and definitely vintage inspired.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found some things :-)

I rarely find vintage Easter around here too. Your finds are cute!
ReplyDeleteLOL. Dollar store items, I know, right?
ReplyDeleteI saw 2 vintage MIJ bunny egg cups at SA, but missing most of their tail fluff & had chips. Sucky!
Love the chicken egg cup!
ReplyDeleteThese are too cute!! Happy weekend! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteIt's all cute Jill! Especially the egg cup. Glad you could handle that expensive thrift trip that set you back $2.50, lol.
ReplyDeleteLove vintage egg cups, this is a cute one! The planter is adorable and what a fun find. Thanks for sharing at TTF!
ReplyDeleteI love egg cups! Yours is darling! Two weeks ago I saw a lamb planter at Sally Ann, they wanted 15$ for it. I thought it was too much!
ReplyDeleteThose definitely bring me back!
ReplyDeleteWe always had an old fashion european Easter when I was young.
Good finds :)
I think they're all very cute! That's how I often feel when so many of those north of me find Pyrex everywhere and it's so scarce here in SC. It must not have sold as much here when it was new. Thank you for sharing this at my History & Home link party - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
ReplyDeleteSame here. Not sure why the thrift stores never have vintage Easter stuff. I never even find it at estate sales! Love your egg cup!
ReplyDeleteJust came by for a visit Diane @ Lydia'a trading post recommended your blog
ReplyDeleteI'm coming to see your smash book pages!- but this little duck planter and egg cup are so cute!
