I think I maybe should just give up on the local yard sales - there is just nothing!!! I really didn't expect much with it being a long weekend and I wasn't wrong! So, after my husband came home from golf, we took a drive and headed towards Manitoulin Island - for anyone that doesn't know, this island is a Canadian island in Lake Huron - it's the largest island in a freshwater lake in the world. It was a great day for a drive, we had a hot dog at a street vendor and an ice cream, bought a loaf of homemade bread at a farmers market and to make it a really good day - I found some "things".
I'm anxious to try out my new Bar BQ plate - $1 - stamped Japan. The cashier commented on my purchases, she thought I found a couple of really neat things, I think I did too! |
On the way into the building a lady was selling clothes, and there was a Vera blowing in the wind - $1 - you just never know where Vera scarves are going to turn up!Today I'm linking up to Flea Market Finds, Thrifty Love, The Penny Worthy Project ,Thrifty Treasures and Vintage Thingie Thursday |
I skipped the garage sales this weekend on Vancouver Island as didn't see anything posted - next weekend should be a much better garage sale weekend. Great finds, love the blue glass.
ReplyDeleteI love my blue fridgie! and yours is so cute too!

I agree with you. Sometimes you just have to go out of town or even out of state to find some good junk! Love all of your finds, especially that fridgie!
ReplyDeleteNothin better than a Vera blowing in the wind, and a little blue fridgie for $2! Happy for you :)

Love the cream and sugar dishes. I have never been to Manitoulin Island. I will have to take the family some day!
ReplyDeleteWell you did find some great things! Love the Pyrex fridgie! Also that little sugar and creamer is so cute! Sounds like you had a good day!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to me like you had much more fun traveling for your treasures than you would have had you found them closer to home. And you are right about the Mrs. Butterworth bottle. Here in the US, this is how they package it. LOVE the little creamer set. Very retro, indeed:-)
ReplyDeleteI love the sugar and creamer set -- I've never seen that pattern. Nice score on the Vera scarf, too!
ReplyDeleteThis is Melissa @ daisymaebelle.com Love your thrifty finds! Especially love that Pyrex! And, sounds like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteYou had a great day Jill! It's always nice to get out of town and see different things! I love all your finds!
ReplyDeleteLove the tiny cream and sugar containers!
ReplyDeleteSo bright and pretty.
Shubhi's Revels!
My grandmother used to have maybe half a dozen of those old, heavy Mrs. Butterworth syrup bottles (lots of pancakes eaten in her house over the years!). She would fill them with sand and use them as doorstops. I don't know why we needed so many doorstops, but there you go. Great finds, lady!
ReplyDeleteWonderful finds! Love the small S & C set, do you think they are from a child's set? Always on the lookout for Vera, good catch!
ReplyDeletehey there, thanks for joining us at cap creations. i've featured you today! have a great thrifty weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat bar b q plate is too cute. I'm not a shopper so I would have no patience for thrift stores and yard sales, but I know there's some great finds out there.
