| This is my very own Popeye lunch box that Mom saved - and I'm glad she did. I lived close to the school so I only got to take my lunch on stormy days - I can still remember placing it in the extremely hot cloak room and even that thermos didn't really do its job in that heat - the milk was warm and of course, that was back in the day when peanut butter sandwiches were allowed in school. I've seen this box a few times in antique shops, it's not cheap by any means. I have a little lunch box guide book, it lists this set, in mint condition, of course, at $450 for the box and $80 for the thermos. Mine is in pretty good shape!! |

| Dad used to keep change in this old candy tin. The candy were made in the United Kingdom, it had the old type of key to open the lid. The original price sticker is still on the top - Eaton's, 79 cents. |

| This lobster tin lid comes from a lobster processing factory close to my home in PEI. I sure wouldn't mind having a tin full of lobster right now - a sandwich would taste really good for lunch!! |

| The Bake Rite baking cups I found a few months ago at a thrift, the original sticker is still on this one - Domininion, 19 cents. The Sweetheart Straws are the old fashioned paper ones - they're pink, green and white, I found them at a yard sale last year. The Kurly Kate I found at home... |

It's really neat that you still have your lunchbox!! My mom nor I saved any of that stuff...sure wish we had! Your other goodies are great too....especially those paper straws!!

ReplyDeleteLove it! The Popeye set is in such wonderful shape. I think kids these days don't get to watch Popeye because it's too violent right? Haha.
